Digital Truck Handling meets Optimized Rail Coordination

EXPERIENCE

SYMO

What is SYMO?

SYMO, short for Synchromodality, combines solutions for digital truck handling and optimized rail coordination to offer a seamless, synchronized approach for terminal processes across both transport modes.

What to expect

The approach promotes cross terminal synchronization, with joint scheduling that extends beyond terminal-level planning. Finally, real-time notifications – including geofencing alerts – keep carriers informed of any planning changes, while a hybrid slot manager system ensures optimal slot allocation through a combination of automated and manual processes.

Centralized Bookings

At the heart of the project is a centralized booking and rescheduling platform that provides a distinct overview of available containers and their locations. Containers can be dynamically rebooked to alternative terminals, with an automated matching function that optimizes planning processes by efficiently pairing resources and schedules.

Real-Time Updates

Real-time updates – such as Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) and Departure (ETD) – are sent to a central system, keeping all stakeholders informed. To reduce terminal dependency, users can subscribe to containers and receive automatic delivery status updates. The system highlights container dependencies and notifies stakeholders in real time when changes occur.

Standardized API-Store

The platform features a standardized API store, integrating top transport and logistics providers for seamless connectivity along transport corridors. This interoperability fosters better networking and collaboration between terminals, rail operators, and freight forwarders.

Machine Learning

Powered by Machine Learning (ML) algorithms, the project is set to analyse historical data to forecast ETAs and ETDs, supporting optimal decision making. Plans can be designed with flexibility, allowing for dynamic adjustments in response to disruptions or changingconditions.

Data Hub

Additionally, the system serves as a data hub, facilitating the exchange of information between rail operators and freight forwarders. Collaborative partnerships with platforms further enhance data integration, transparency, and overall system efficiency.

Passify, with its focus on digitalizing and automating truck handling processes, streamlines operations by allowing drivers to book slots, check in digitally, and verify their identity through secure two-factor authentication. This enhances efficiency at truck handling points while improving security, offering a more sustainable and cost-effective solution for road transport operations.

On the rail side, RailSync specializes in optimizing intermodal transport coordination through its platform, enabling better long-term and daily slot management, improved planning, and enhanced communication among stakeholders. With real-time data, RailSync synchronizes rail operations, improving train punctuality, transparency, and flexibility.
